Help George Find his marbles

Saw this on a bumper sticker today...

"Help George find his marbles."

Avril Lavigne g'd bless her for trying... and come on Gwen !

Saw Avril Lavigne on SNL (Saturday Night Live) perform her latest single "Girlfriend" (album releases tuesday).... and g'd help her... she was HORRIBLE http://youtube.com/watch?v=N7MjhBFy0EE
.... she made Ashley Simpson's (infamous) performance (on SNL), seem...well... not quite so bad !

She's married now, of course... older, more mature than we she made it big at 17... but boy (or should i say sk8r boi) did she go downhill !

Her single is high on the billboard charts... perhaps a younger, less refined ear can appreciate her 'maturity'.... but i say, bring back the 17 yr old Avril !!! She looked and sounded more like 14...than early 20's.

And on the subject of dumb-ing down pop music.... the latest by Gwen Stefani... is beyond idiotic too... I commend her Madonna-esq image changes, the Japanese dancers, etc... but compared to her prev. solo albumn and OF course her time as lead of No Doubt... this latest (title track) "Sweet Escape" is MORNONIC (winning lyrics ?! I don't think so) ! (sorry Gwen) http://youtube.com/watch?v=zoHBlTMwCno

When he was talking about the Pepsi can, I thought if he turned it sideways, the Pepsi logo would be Blue, White and Red - kinda resembling the FRENCH flag ? Oui ?!

Happy Friday the 13th ! Hope it was a good day for all !

Peace Love and Pasta ?!

So, there's a YUIMMY Pasta dish called Pollo or Chicken Limone. I enjoy it over (ala) a 'bed' of linguine. That way the same yummy sauce is on the chicken AND the pasta too.

A good one (in addition to the basic yummy ingredients) includes white wine, lemon juice, mushrooms, olives, capers, oh...and I always 'add' artichoke hearts !

Jay's Gourmet in Carlsbad, CA and Encinitas, CA make a DELICIOUS Chicken Limone w/ artichoke hearts -- I highly recommend it.

I just tried the version at OGGI'S pizza & pasta (many locations), this one was Vista, CA. It was surprisingly excellent ! Comparable to Jay's Gourmet, give or take.

Yesterday I tried the Pollo Limone at Cafe Italia, in Palm Springs, CA ... it was BEYOND bad. At $16.95 a royal rip-off. It was chicken w/ some cheese baked too it (no mushrooms, no capers, no flavor, no sauce) ... on a pile of sauce-less (plain) spaghetti. That's it ! It went in the trash.

Bon appetite !
